Negotiating Under Pressure
On Wednesday, June 24th, former HCNU Commander Mr. Peter Morgan delivered a captivating session on crisis negotiation. Drawing on his extensive frontline experience, he walked our members through the core principles of specialized police units when confronted with high-stakes situations, including hostage and suicide interventions. Mr. Morgan offered a compelling set of strategies and psychological tactics that elite units rely on to de-escalate life-threatening situations. Beyond the tactical insights, Mr. Morgan ended the session by prompting the audience to reflect further on the sophisticated art of negotiation and the importance of soft skills in successful negotiation.
