Celebrating Europe Day 2025 in Macau

On 22 May 2025, the European Union Office to Hong Kong and Macau hosted the Europe Day celebration in Macau at the Artyzen Grand Lapa Hotel. Ambassador Harvey Rouse, head of the EU Office, emphasized the EU’s commitment to fostering strong ties with Macau and supporting an open, vibrant society. André Cheong, Secretary for Administration and Justice of the Macau SAR, highlighted Macau’s dedication to creating a favorable environment for international collaboration and its role in promoting economic diversification and innovation.

The event commemorated the historic "Schuman Declaration" and the values of peace, unity, and cooperation that define the European Union. The celebration brought together distinguished guests, including Mrs. Christile Drulhe, Consul General of France in Hong Kong and Macau, Mr. Rutger Verschuren, FMCC Chairman, Mr. Jérémy Artan de Saint Martin, FMCC Executive Board Director and Treasurer, FMCC members and representatives from various consulates.
