2025 Charity Gala Dinner
The France Macau Chamber of Commerce (FMCC) successfully hosted its prestigious 2025 Charity Gala Dinner on 19th September 2025, themed "Voyage on the Seine," at the Grand Ballroom of MGM Macau. This elegant event brought together approximately 300 distinguished guests from Macau, Hong Kong, and the Greater Bay Area for an evening of cultural celebration and meaningful impact.
The gala highlighted the enduring partnership between France and Macau, symbolized by the Seine River – a timeless emblem of movement, romance, and exchange. Guests enjoyed a champagne reception, an exquisite five-course French-inspired dinner, captivating performances by Royalstar Creative, and live music from Hong Kong's premier band OnPoint.
In continuation of its commitment to sustainability excellence, FMCC presented the third edition of the Macau ESG Awards, honoring outstanding achievements in Environmental, Social, and Governance practices. The winners from the categories of Best Project: RecyCard, Best SME: JC Human Resources Consulting, and Best NGO: Society of Food & Environmental Health (Macao) were announced during the gala, recognizing their exceptional contributions to advancing sustainable practices within Macau.
This year's gala raised significant charitable funds, amounting to MOP 61,800, in support of the "FMCC Hengqin-Macau Inclusive Fun Day" – a pioneering cross-border initiative focused on neurodiversity inclusion. Organized in partnership with Macau Special Olympics (MSO) and Zhuhai Autism Society (ZAS), this initiative will bring together families from Zhuhai and Macau for a day of music therapy, adaptive sports, and activities designed to promote inclusion.
FMCC Chairman Mr. Rutger Verschuren expressed his gratitude to the distinguished guests, including:
- Mrs. Christile Drulhe, Consul General of France in Hong Kong and Macau
- Ms. Jennifer Si Tou, Acting Director of Macao Government Tourism Office
- Mr. Sam Lei, Director of Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute
- Mr. Philippe Baudry, Head of Economic of Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macao
- Mr. Bertrand Quevremont, Director of Business France (Hong Kong Office)
“FMCC continues to play its role as a bridge between France, Macau, and the Greater Bay Area—strengthening business, supporting SMEs, and giving back to the community,” stated Mr. Verschuren. “Tonight’s gala is not only a celebration of French culture, it is also a showcase of the connections between commerce and community—bringing people together, creating opportunities, and supporting causes that matter to Macau’s future.”
He added: “This gala shows the strength of our community and the opportunities that come when business, culture, and purpose come together.”
Throughout its journey, FMCC has expanded its impact through various initiatives, including mentorship programs, research cooperation agreements, and the French Culinary Arts Committee. The chamber consistently organizes over 50 events annually, from AI workshops, site visits, and entrepreneurship forums to ESG seminars and cultural exchanges.
As Macau undergoes transformation within the Greater Bay Area, FMCC champions the vision of “Two Regions – One Destination,” positioning Macau and Hengqin as complementary partners in shaping a unified tourism and business hub. Through initiatives such as Tourism+, FMCC is advancing Macau’s diversification strategy while opening new opportunities for SMEs. The chamber also remains dedicated to nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs through mentorship programs, supporting their role in shaping innovation and future growth.
Looking ahead, FMCC remains committed to strengthening France-Macau ties in technology, sustainability, and culture, expanding ESG leadership, and creating opportunities for members to connect, share, and grow throughout Macau and the Greater Bay Area.
