Join us and hear from Dr. Annabel Jackson as she delves into Macau's rising status as a gastronomic destination since its designation as UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy in 2018. Together we explore Macau's unique culinary offerings and the effectiveness of government programs aimed at promoting gastronomic tourism as catalyst in Macau’s aim to diversify its offerings.

Speaker Bio:

Dr. Annabel Jackson is a writer, researcher and university lecturer specialising in food and wine, with a particular interest in cultural tourism. She has more than 20 years of industry experience (in Hong Kong) including hotel public relations, wine event organisation, and restaurant promotion.

Dr. Jackson holds a PhD (University of London) in sociology of gastronomy, and a MA (SOAS, University of London) in anthropology of food. She is the author of 15 books, most recently, The Making of Macau’s Fusion Cuisine: From Family Table to World Stage (2020, Hong Kong University Press), as well as cookbooks about Chinese and Southeast Asian cuisines.
