Speaker's Bio

Mr Erik Chan.

Mr. Chan serves as Area Manager for Hong Kong and Macao at the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the premier trade association for the global airline industry, representing more than 370 members accounting for approximately 85% of total air traffic worldwide.

In this capacity, Mr. Chan oversees a wide array of aviation-related activities and plays a key role in formulating industry policy on matters of strategic importance to the Hong Kong and Macao SAR regions.

Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Chan spent over 15 years with leading international carriers, including Cathay Pacific and Qatar Airways. His career has taken him across the UK, France, Canada, the UAE, and Mainland China, giving him a truly global perspective. This diverse experience, combined with his deep sector knowledge, positions him as a distinguished aviation expert with equal strength in commercial strategy and operational delivery.
